In this case, &#8220;disaster steak&#8221; is a good thing).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/pics\/view\/misc\/disastersteak\/\" title=\"the beginning\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/download\/3959-2\/dscn0924.jpg\" title=\"the beginning\" alt=\"the beginning\" height=\"113\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was a steak night.  I had some friends over this weekend and sparked up the BBQ.  I picked up some (big) sirloin steaks from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.costco.ca\/\" title=\"Costco\">Costco<\/a>, made sure beer was stocked and away I went.  Here&#8217;s how one makes a simple steak to die for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>wash down steaks with cold water<\/li>\n<li>place steaks in a large bowl<\/li>\n<li>douse steaks with balsamic vinegar (white or red) and rub<\/li>\n<li>douse steaks with olive oil and rub<\/li>\n<li>sprinkle steaks with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Montreal\" title=\"Montreal\">Montreal<\/a> steak spice (you can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookingcache.com\/dips\/montrealsteakseasoning.shtml\" title=\"make your own\">make your own<\/a> if you really want)<\/li>\n<li>seal the bowl and place in the fridge for an hour or so to let the steaks marinate<\/li>\n<li>heat up the BBQ and slap on the steaks (N.B. have booze, appetizers, both, or whatever you want along the way &#8212; it&#8217;s always better than everyone just sitting there watching [and waiting]!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/pics\/view\/misc\/disastersteak\/\" title=\"appetizers\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/download\/3974-2\/dscn0929.jpg\" title=\"appetizers\" alt=\"appetizers\" height=\"113\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"\/pics\/view\/misc\/disastersteak\/\" title=\"on the BBQ\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/download\/3980-2\/dscn0931.jpg\" title=\"on the BBQ\" alt=\"on the BBQ\" height=\"113\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cook steaks as desired (I like mine _well_ done)<\/li>\n<li>serve and enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/pics\/view\/misc\/disastersteak\/\" title=\"bon appetite!\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/download\/3986-2\/dscn0933.jpg\" title=\"bon appetite!\" alt=\"bon appetite!\" height=\"113\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Click on any of the photos to see the <a href=\"\/pics\/view\/misc\/disastersteak\/\" title=\"whole process in pictures\">whole process in pictures<\/a>.
